So the legacy of DOGE so far:
1) driving 1000s of experienced gov't workers out of needed roles & in many cases having to rehire them, wasting rather than saving federal funds,
2) triggering a recession in the nation's capitol, & now
3) slowing int'l response to an EBOLA EPIDEMIC

Jeff Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay zero federal income tax. He cited a nurse in Queens making ~$75K and paying ~$12K in taxes saying “we shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington.”

The obvious answers to me are cost (esp when the assumption is that to be a good parent, your kids must have *the best*/their own rooms/other novel 'necessities') + starting late (also a reason that completed fertility lags desired fertility)
