It's new video time. I've been too quiet of late. Here's a vid of a performance at Melton Mowbray Folk Festival back in the summer. Can't believe that I wore a short sleeved shirt! youtu.be/9CPp2Jwc14I

@WriterHannahBT Ours in Leicestershire are still here. Not seen a single Swallow or House Martin this year.
English

First bird of my day: a pair of SWIFTS! Can’t believe it. They’re the only one left and must have a late brood. Wonderful to see. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
English

@WriterHannahBT Crikey! We don't get Rheas down our way! A family group of 5 Jackdaws on the lawn is all I can contribute.
English

First bird of my day: a Rhea staring at me with his blue eyes and pretty eyelashes. The biggest #FirstBirdOfMyDay for me. #WhatsYours

The youtube video of one of my solo guitar instrumental pieces has just reached 1000 views. I know this is tiny compared to Taylor Swift, but a big deal for me. I'm celebrating! Have a look. youtu.be/Ds_hqVBHX0o

@implausibleblog @mjpomar Keep religion out of politics - just look at the USA to see why.
English

Generally religion is out of politics in our country
But if you're being fair and impartial, surely you'd have the courtesy of a moments joy to see how three British Muslim women of Pakistani/Indian heritage have managed to accomplish and achieve so that they are now all three sat conversing in parliament
The first female Muslim deputy speaker
The first female Muslim lord chancellor
Be happy for them, and be happy for our society that we all people, irrespective of their backgrounds, to achieve - this is a good day for Britain
English

Three British Muslim women MPs in parliament
Naz Shah, "Thank you madam deputy speaker Nusrat Ghani, and I can congratulate you on taking your space.. Even more so as a Muslim female in this house"
"It gives me great pleasure and pride to see not only a deputy speaker who is Muslim, but also the first female Muslim Lord Chancellor, Shabana Mahmood"
"And I'm sure the whole house, indeed the whole country share our pride, celebrating Britain at it's best, the house at its best and democracy at its best"
Naz Shah (Labour) @NazShahBfd
Nusrat Ghani (Conservative) @Nus_Ghani
Shabana Mahmood (Labour) @ShabanaMahmood
This was such a delight to hear, thank you Naz Shah for taking the time to do this. May it be an inspiration to young girls and women that no matter where they are from, our country provides everyone with opportunities, should they wish to pursue them 👏

@WriterHannahBT Love the poetry in this. As a songwriter I'm almost tempted to nick "in the safe green gloom under the vine". My first of the day was a goldcreast. We have an old, wide shrubby Scots Pine that they visit every few weeks.
English

First bird of my day: the garden robin in an otherwise quiet garden on a day that has yet to reveal itself to rain or shine. Eyes bright in the safe green gloom under the vine. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

Keir Starmer will set out legislation to axe hereditary peers from the House of Lords, removing the remaining 92 blue-blooded peers and ending one of the biggest anachronisms in British democracy. ft.com/content/a81686…

@WriterHannahBT House Sparrows all a twitter on the lawn this morning. Two harassed looking Dads, and half a dozen babies. Well, I think there were half a dozen, but the little devils wouldn't stay still long enough for me to count!
English

First bird of my day: wood pigeons hanging out next to Rutland water where I watched a barn owl quartering at dusk. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

The Interweb is a wonderful thing. I've just achieved 5000 Spotify listeners a month, most of them from nowhere near the UK where I live. I know it's tiny compared to Taylor Swift, but a big deal for me. My latest single - open.spotify.com/track/4Fx1GkGp…

@FolkShire @RadioKennet @bennicholls10 @thejohnsmith hiya Shire Folk, looks like you have plenty to be going on with, but maybe in a future program you could consider my new release. mP3 available if that is better for you. open.spotify.com/track/4Fx1GkGp…
English

The next Shire Folk Showcase is on @RadioKennet Wed 29 July, 9-11pm.
We will be playing around 25 new tracks including Down Where the Drunkards Roll from Duets by @bennicholls10 with @thejohnsmith on the vocals on this track

English

@WriterHannahBT Baby Jackdaw on the lawn. He's part of a family group, but spends a lot of time on his own, having a little think.
English

First bird of my day: a squadron of starlings shrieking past the window, theirs wings made of a sunshine glow. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
English

@dorner_martina Definitely a bit Folky. Here you go - my latest release. Welcome back. open.spotify.com/track/4Fx1GkGp…
English

@andycorneys Yes, it's worrying, but not something our politicos want to talk about. It needs radical action, and they can't appreciate that.
English

Fantastic news! @Redrowhomes have signed up to the Future Homes Hub, meaning that all their building works from September will incorporate one swift brick for every new home built. Well done Redrow! @swifts_uk @ChrisGPackham Thread 1/2

English

@Deeside_Sparrow @WriterHannahBT yes, we took them for granted.
English

@ChristoffCee @WriterHannahBT 🤞 I hope these starlings stay around your's. From time-to-time I see starlings prospecting not too far away but only a handful of visits in the garden over several years. No garden starlings would have been unthinkable here in the 1970s!
English

First bird of my day: 4.15am as the sun rose turning the sky peach-melba, a blackbird perched on a chimney pot and sang the rooks over the village out into the fields like a conductor of summer. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
English

@WriterHannahBT I think numbers are down in urban area's. I live in a small town. The ones here are a family group, parents and very noisy and boisterous babies. They seem to have drifted in and appear to be staying. It's a large and wildlife friendly garden.
English

@ChristoffCee WOOOOOHOOO!! Wonder what the change is?
