It is frustrating that kids under five have to get their flu shot at the Health unit but the only appointments are for the middle of the afternoon. Give me first thing in the morning or even late afternoon. Parents can’t do middle of the day #abhealth

Yesterday, I got a heartbreaking rejection on a full. It held nothing but praise and I can’t thank the agent enough for being so kind. But now I’m convinced that the industry has yet to see how important multiracial perspectives will be to this and future generations. 1/8

@BethanyJarmul Love this. What about the places that don’t accept simultaneous submissions do you just do it anyway? The idea of waiting three months for one rejection so I can submit somewhere else often stalls me out.

10. I submit a lot. Each piece of writing, I submit to a minimum of 5 places, sometimes up to 12-15 places at once. I submit as often as I can, to a wide array of lit mags. The more you submit, the less the rejections hurt and the more chances you have to get published.

Last year, I published 2 pieces of writing. This year, I've had 28 pieces accepted for publication. Here are the changes that I made to prioritize writing and submitting. (Caveat: these worked for me, doesn't mean they're for everyone.) 🧵
