@callumjames_EE Have you had to go down the guided route with the new rules? Would love to ride the Annapurna Circuit but not sold on guided hols, so fear I left it too late...
Im completely bamboozled.
1am, arrived at hotel.
By 9am, built my bike.
By 11am, in the back of a jeep heading to the hills.
Its now 6pm & I'm packed for the upcoming Annapurna adventure.
Haven't had a second to process the fact I'm in Nepal & going riding in the Himalayas!🤯
@virginmedia starting to take this personally now. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to access my new account for admin purposes when my login only shows my old, deactivated account, won't let me change it and I can't even use your stupid apps. Why are you so incredibly bad at CS?
@virginmedia your website makes it impossible to contact you. Moved house, account shows old deactivated account, can't update to new account, can't create new account. Website won't show me any phone numbers, web chats, forms etc. etc. - how am I supposed to resolve this?
@_julietelliott Depending on length, generally best to split. Crashes become more likely the bigger the file gets. I tend to save every 24 hours, but your Garmin shouldn't get too buggy any time before around 600km or so. There are websites to stitch together after the race if you want to
When people race Ultras do they tend to keep their Garmin running until they get to the end or save their ride at the end of each day, if there is such a thing?
@tweetymike That's how I use it and it works well. Stability is great, image quality is near GoPro and it's tiny. Sound can be an issue (can't really fit a wind muffler) and storage fills quickly in 'pro' mode. I don't regret buying one, but there are certainly limitations
@tweetymike The Go 2 isn't 360 - it's a great PoV cam, but for 360 you'll need the One X2. Mobile editing is good, but importing footage takes a lot of time and battery, so need to have realistic expectations or you'll be very frustrated. Great cameras though and easy/intuitive software
@richellicott@Cal_james95@WilliamNB hard to tell from the map, but looks like you're mostly following the Great North Trail up to Cape Wrath, in which case you'll have a great time! Very little hike-a-bike required - rode it the opposite direction last summer and loved it
@Cal_james95@WilliamNB@Chrs_H I’ll check it out. It’s all just ideas coming together at the moment. The Hebrides look great, I want to ride the Postman’s track on Harris too one day. Did the wild about Argyll 2 years ago, excellent too!
@Chrs_H@HartleyCycles & I were talking about this today. She joined the bike industry from a more traditional art background, & promptly fulfilled her dream of being in the @DesignMuseum. I abandoned academia & with it my dream of being a published author, took up couriering - poof! 📚
@VecchioJo@tweetymike@apidura All will make sense very soon... Promise it's worth it, just not allowed to say anything more than it does serve a purpose and the first product to make use of it is launching imminently. For now, feel free to use it to organise your gear or take it out and put it somewhere safe
@DrElJaskowska@Sunniethehoob@apidura@carradicebags@JudithSwallow Absolutely. Adjacent to this there was a previous idea bubbling away with Shona at Keep Pedalling that unfortunately got cut from the period piece and I'm still desperately looking for an excuse to bring it back to life...
Gravel bikes face a lot of criticism for not being as good as a mountain bike off-road or as good as a road bike on-road. But according to our very own @Chrs_H, they make the very best bikepacking bikes... apidura.com/journal/are-gr…
@Sunniethehoob@DrElJaskowska@apidura@carradicebags@JudithSwallow Awesome! If she has any ideas bubbling away already, she can email me on cherbert@apidura.com and we can make them happen. Otherwise, I'll give the nod when I've got something in the works that she might be interested in contributing to 😀
@Sunniethehoob@DrElJaskowska@apidura@carradicebags@JudithSwallow She'd be welcomed with open arms - I rely on our incredible ambassadors, colleagues and the women in my personal life to let me know what we need more of on the journal and me not being able to keep up is the limiting factor...
@virginmedia I'm moving home next week... your 'moving' section of your website is broken and I can't get through to a human on the chat function. Would love to try to take you with me, but you're not making it easy. Any chance I can talk to a human?
@handmadecyclist B screw usually. I used to just settle for rapid shifting down the block till it moved then shifting back up to the gear I wanted whenever mine decided to have an off day...
Tech types. I’m having a repeated problem with Sram Force 1X. Rear mech won’t shift down from biggest sprocket. All indexed correctly. Any solutions out there, other than bin it for GRX?
