This is gonna sound boomer coded but they don't get ENOUGH the flowers they deserve specifically because of just how much value you used to get back then on video games. If you wanted to get say an alt costume, secret levels, new game+, additional campaigns, extra side modes, extra customization options, hidden costumes and what not you had to PLAY the game not just pay 15 USD for another battle pass to then get the privilege to farm the same boring challenges for months. And progression wasn't tied to MTX either. Usually developers KNEW that the game had to have a reason to keep playing it after the campaign was done, the games shipped almost always with reasons to keep you engaged that wasn't just another dopamine hit from some microtransaction you paid for. The dopamine hit was THE GAME itself. And back then if you DID pay for some sort of expansion pack you it was oftentimes akin to getting an entire sequel's worth of content for a lower price. Cheat codes were either something you had to learn from a friend or you unlocked it via gameplay instead of it being like now where you have to pay some mtx to get what you would've gotten for free back then. The only expense you'd ever have to do with cheat codes was either whatever you spent on printing out the website that had the cheats or magazine if you were older, and most times you would just either write it down or just memorize it. Some developers would even leave debug menus in the game or do entire cheat menus for you after you beat the game. You didn't have to log in to play offline games and for the most part 95% of games would run out of the box with no patches required. You also didn't have "roadmaps" or had companies apologizing and making you wait 6 months (if not more nowadays) for a features that would've been on release previously. They gave you a full package and told you to fuck off and play it until the next one was done. Games are getting better about this, but even games like Resident Evil: Requiem lock behind a 15 USD premium (on top of a 70 USD buy in) costumes and other gameplay items that meaningfully change the game when before it would've been a collectible reward you'd get for playing the game. It really wasn't normal for a company to just TAKE OUT A FINISHED PART OF THE GAME to nickle and dime you over stuff that's CURRENTLY installed on your console or PC. With certain exceptions most games haven't really gotten "better" from a gameplay perspective either since that era. Sure the graphics are "nicer" and even really impressive in some instances but at what cost? Well it's been at the cost of development time ballooning to insane proportions to the point where people seem to forget that one of the video games in that clip was followed up with a dev cycle of just 2 years with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, one of the best GTA games ever made, meanwhile the gap between GTAV and GTAVI stands at 13 YEARS. Even if you wanna argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 should count it's still a 8 year gap since RDR2 was developed and between GTAV and RDR2 it's 5 years. Double the time spent from Vice City to San Andreas. I know it's really hard to believe how good we had it and I'm gonna assume you're probably from a younger generation but we really did have it that good for a LONG time. And don't even get me started on companies being more open to funding smaller non AAA projects which allowed a lot of variety back in the day, but since now the bottom line is ALL that matters smaller IP's are dead and relegated to never see sequels or worse get cannibalized into something like Marathon which at best only shares the same name of the older games and plays nothing like it.

Would you guys be interested in seeing me build my own daughter? I would like to design the model and rig it.

🚨 Someone just open sourced their own Neuro-sama. And it might be better than the original. It's called AIRI. A fully autonomous AI companion that talks to you in real time, plays Minecraft with you, plays Factorio, chats on Discord and Telegram, has a Live2D and VRM avatar body, remembers past conversations, and runs entirely on your machine. Not a chatbot. Not a voice assistant. A digital being that lives on your screen. Here's what this thing can actually do: → Real-time voice conversations with speech recognition + synthesis → Plays Minecraft autonomously alongside you → Plays Factorio (builds, automates, strategizes) → Joins your Discord and Telegram to chat → Full animated Live2D and VRM avatar with auto-blink, eye tracking, and idle animations → Persistent memory across sessions → Local inference via WebGPU. No API calls needed → Runs in your browser, on desktop (macOS/Windows), or on mobile Here's why this matters: Neuro-sama is the most famous AI VTuber on the internet. Millions watch her streams. But she's closed source. When the stream ends, she's gone. You can't talk to her. You can't play games with her. You can't customize her. AIRI is the open source answer. Your own AI companion. Always available. Fully yours. Here's the wildest part: It supports 30+ LLM providers. OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, Groq, Mistral, xAI, local models. Swap the brain with a config change. It uses native CUDA and Apple Metal for inference. Not some slow wrapper. Real GPU acceleration through HuggingFace Candle. It even has a plugin system so the community can extend what she can do. Watch videos. Browse the web. Learn new games. The architecture is built for it. 17.5K GitHub stars. 1.7K forks. 2,518 commits. 101 contributors. 46 releases. This isn't a weekend project. This is a movement. 100% Open Source.

This is the first time I think I've been added to one of these vtuber aggregator websites. It'll sound silly but it is humbling and it made me really happy... (..◜ᴗ◝..) Thanks @KazamaVT 💕
