So according to all the weather forecasts, our area of Ohio is expected to get pummeled by below-zero temperatures and buried under a couple feet of snow this weekend. We are well-stocked up on groceries but my wife made a last minute run to Kroger's this evening just to grab a few extra things. She said the store was more crowded than she'd ever seen it. There weren't even any available shopping carts left! She had to go back out to the parking lot to find a spare one! I guess the whole town is preparing to be snowed in till Monday. I don't have anywhere to be, so I am looking forward to hunkering down with my wife and daughter for a few days, and making the best of it. Like my family used to, during those really heavy winters when I was a kid. Watch some movies, read some comics, and put in plenty of hours drawing comics at the old art desk. Maybe even take the kid outside to play, if the windchill factor isn't too harsh. That said, my heart (and prayers) go out to anyone whose job or other obligations require them to be on the roads this weekend. If the forecast is accurate it's supposed to be a real snowstorm. Stay safe out there.

I guess it’s my birthday right now since I was born in New Jersey.

2025 was one of those challenging years that often had me thinking, "Okay, God, I don't understand what your plan is here... But I guess I'm (begrudgingly) along for the ride..." Mostly I remember it being a frustrating, confusing year, on a day-to-day basis. But scrolling through all the 2025 photos on my phone this morning, was like standing back and looking and the whole forest instead of examining individual trees. ...And a big, humbling reminder that 2025 was actually a year of many blessings and good memories to be thankful for. -Playing with my kid in the snow last January. -The campaign for my Wulf & Batsy Art Book, which did much better than I expected. -That amazing meal my wife made for my Birthday last July. -Getting the Criterion Collection Godzilla BluRay set (actually a 2024 Christmas gift, but watching every movie on it, over several weeks in 2025, always cheered me up). -Spending all summer playing with my kid in the pool, working on her swimming skills - then seeing her have those big breakthroughs at her Saturday swim lessons (probably my single favorite moment of the entire year, honestly). -Watching my kid play videogames with her little friends at her birthday party. -First Day of 2nd Grade. -Starting work on a brand new Wulf and Batsy comic. -Crowdfunding my Wulf and Batsy Vol.1 Revised Edition Trade Paperback, which ended up being my second-most-successful campaign to date. -I had a REALLY good Halloween this year. -And a beautiful Christmas Eve with my family. My New Year's Resolution for 2026 is to remember to keep things in perspective, to refuse to allow daily frustrations to spoil my overall mood, and stay mindful of, and thankful for, the big blessings that really matter.

Christopher Mills passed away on October 13. He was the visionary comic writer & publisher of @AtomicPulp comics. I drew the cover of his updated oldie hero, BLACK OWL. It re-ignited my love of the kind of comics I'd missed. Thanks for that, Christopher. You will be missed. RIP
