After the game in D.C., I took time to visit the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History. Seeing myself in the museum twice, once with the Nike Freestyle commercial and again in the Harlem Globetrotters section, was a humbling moment. Just a kid from Harrisburg.🙏🏽

Tough day saying goodbye to my Uncle Steve. From the cradle to the grave, family is everything. Even in our lowest moments, we carry one another through every storm. Gonna miss the corny jokes, but he taught us that showing up for family isn’t optional, it’s a must. #family

And then important to talk separately about the love between the men’s and women’s teams - off color comments or not…post game.
There is great support on & love that goes both ways.

I trust @emilymkaplan’s voice on this topic w USA Women’s & Men’s hockey gold in the Olympics more than anyone bc:
1) she covers the men’s game & knows the players personally
2) she’s a woman herself, & a huge women’s sports fan
This take from @HilaryKnight is the exact right path to take - unify instead of divide, address the connection of the teams, give the insider info on the mutual support each team has/had for each other, and don’t get caught up in the mud of how the media/social media is taking volatile sides.
