so they gave to seek alternate routes to get treatment, including private clinics if they can afford it

the GIC doesn't just rubber-stamp dysphoria diagnoses. if someone tells their GP they're having gender dysphoric symptoms they're not equipped to deal with it and only the GICs are -> 8 year wait

I think part of the problem is the tories repeatedly messed with the GRC process
the waiting list to get a gender identity clinic appointment is now ~8 years long
the gov refused to even try and solve this
