My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. Maya Angelou

Just wanna take this opportunity to remind people that Fa Mulan is the best Disney princess. I hate how they gave frozen the credit for being the first Disney movie where the princess didn’t need a man. Fa Mulan went to fucking war and saved her country. Fucking GOAT.

The secret to getting kids reading is the same thing that worked in the nineties. Reading Rainbow. Free pizzas. Shakespeare rom-coms. A million Jane Austen adaptations. Movies where a guy gifts his beloved an enormous library. Dog who acts out the classics.

@AskMichaelTaiwo Unique ID: 442742 As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the transformative power of self-discovery.During my four-year stay at home, post secondary school, I learned a profound lesson: that our individual abilities are the surest path to a liberated and fulfilling future.

Nigerian doctors are really God’s strongest soldiers. Overworked, underpaid, government will fail you, citizens will undermine you and when you try to leave, foreign establishments will give you all the exam in the world before you can come and practice.

I see an opinion I don’t agree with… I don’t need to stress myself by trying to change their mind. I just keep on scrolling, facing my own problems and going on with my day. ❤️

"Dearest," said Aslan very gently, "you and your brother will never come back to Narnia." "Oh, Aslan!!" said Edmund and Lucy both together in despairing voices. "You are too old, children," said Aslan, "and you must begin to come close to your own world now." "It isn't Narnia, you know," sobbed Lucy. "It's you. We shan't meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?" "But you shall meet me, dear one," said Aslan. "Are — are you there too, Sir?" said Edmund. "I am," said Aslan. "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there." - C.S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

O&G doctors are probably the best in Nigeria when it comes to emergencies. In fact, they're usually 5-10 steps ahead and will nip the emergency situation before it starts. They also genuinely believe absolutely no woman should die in pregnancy.

Let me give you a piece of advice: You see those calls from your relatives or family members that you see as disturbing? Those missed calls you don't return cos you feel "Wetin na? Mumsi own too much. Popsi, try dey calm down". Those friends whose casual calls you feel are too disturbing? You do that cos you think they will be here forever. You feel you have all the time in the world with them until you realise it is NOT the case. With the rate at which people are leaving the earth now, you'd hear from that loved one today, tomorrow they are GONE. All that'd fill your mind are just memories. You'd look at your phone sometimes and wish you could get that missed call from them. Those missed calls you felt were disturbances. You will give anything to have them when they are gone. But you cannot rewind time or reverse the natural course of events. All you will be filled with are just memories. In your head. Regrets for time not well spent. These memories will linger. The guilt will build. Guilt that only you knows of. You felt sleek avoiding their calls. Oh how much you'd give to have those calls now. It is okay and normal to feel choked up. But call them back. Return those missed calls when you are well relaxed. Speak with them. Listen to them. Cos it may well be your last moments with them. Death most times doesn't knock. It just enters. Let them know how much they are appreciated. Have quality talking time with them. If possible, do videos with them. These are what will give you closure when they are gone and your conscience clear and free that you did your part, with your mind floating free from branch to branch, lighter than the air. I wish us all the best in our struggles through the tides of life.
