The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, revealed that he was subjected to intense pressure from officials in the United States and Britain before he submitted a request to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials. The requested warrants were for war crimes, including starvation as a method of warfare and intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, as well as crimes against humanity including murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts. Khan explained that the pressure included contacts, warnings, and political criticism aimed at influencing his decision and preventing him from proceeding with legal actions related to war crimes and crimes against humanity connected to the war on Gaza.
