A visa ban for Russian athletes is an effective solution that works regardless of the decisions made by the IOC or international federations. There is no place in international sports for the mouthpieces of war.

🤌🏼 Information has broken in Russian propaganda media that Russian curlers will miss the Junior World Championship in mixed pairs. Huge respect to Canada for its correct and honorable decision not to issue visas to Russian athletes who support the war and serve as a propaganda tool for Russia. I very much hope that similar decisions will be made by more countries, and we will see less Russian propaganda in international sports.

Norway is refusing to host international swimming championships over the decision to allow russian athletes to compete under the russian flag. The president of the Norwegian Swimming Federation said he will soon meet with counterparts from Nordic countries and hopes Oslo’s stance will “create momentum against the decision of World Aquatics.” On April 13, World Aquatics allowed russian athletes to compete under their flags and anthems. They are also taking the latest claims about state-sponsored doping in Russia seriously. Will it make @iocmedia think twice about lifting ban on Russia?

On April 7, neutral athletes competing in the 2026 Olympics took part in a propaganda event with sanctioned Russian officials and also received gifts from them. Participation in such events is a violation of IOC rules. IOC reaction: We have no comment to offer.
