“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” - 1 Timothy 6:10 (CSB)
🚨🚨CHARLIE KIRK BROUGHT OUR BOY BACK TO CHRIST. 🚨🚨
Being a Pastor’s kid isn’t easy. All 6 of our children have had to navigate some extremely difficult waters. Our large platform has brought about daily attacks and criticism. Caden, our 18 year old, began drifting away from the Lord a few years ago. He wasn’t openly rebellious per se, he just questioned everything he thought he knew. He locked himself away in his own head and walked completely away from church. We prayed long and hard. It was obvious my preaching wasn’t going to do the convincing. What we didn’t know is that he found Charlie Kirk’s podcast. He slowly drew him in. He began listening intently and Charlie’s politics and faith intrigued him greatly. He began to realize why I said the things I said and why I took the bold stands that I’ve taken. Knowing Charlie as a friend and having him speak at our church became some great “brownie points”. Little by little, he came to life. Fast forward a bit and now the boy is literally in church more than I am. He runs a production camera and has had a total life transformation. When Charlie died, it rocked his world. He was stunned. He was angry but mostly he was moved to step up and do more for Christ. When Turning Point allowed me floor access to the memorial service, I knew I had to take him. Charlie Kirk had accomplished what no one else could. During the funeral he cried, clapped and lifted his hands in worship. It’s all he’s talked about. He told his Mom years ago that one day he would get baptized in the Jordan River. I knew we had to strike while the iron was hot. So, we booked a last minute trip and as soon as we returned from Charlie’s funeral, we immediately flew to Israel. Today, I had the joy of fulfilling his dream. The second he came out of the water, he wept uncontrollably. He was free. He was at peace. He’s literally a new man. I’m beyond grateful to the LORD for what has transpired. But I also want to thank my friend Charlie for his unwavering commitment to truth. You became a mouthpiece for restoration and redemption. You did what his “Pastor Dad” couldn’t do. There is no doubt you’ve lit a fire that want go out. So, I just wanted to say that not only will I miss my friend, I’m eternally grateful for your life and legacy.
THANK YOU CHARLIE KIRK. YOU RESCUED MY SON. ❤️🔥
