The 1st annual Latina Legacy Conference for middle schools was tan empowering! It was exactly what the Latina middle schooler in me needed. What an honor to have been a part of it and to be the keynote speaker. Mi corazón está full!! 🤎🤍✊🏼#sazónycorazón #LLC24 @MCPS @GMSVikings

I was scrolling through Twitter and was, “YES this is on point. Let me retweet this…” Then I realized it was my post, 😂 I just be talking… But catch that truth!

@sbmaneyphoto @nytimes Thank you for capturing this moment. Black joy shouldn’t be revolutionary but the proud, reserved smile captured in the photo elevates the counter story for so many: Even in spite of triggering racism towards black women, they can never steal our joy.

How to respond when you hear “these kids can’t…” resource by Elena Aguilar. It comes from a place of real frustration, and causes harm by promoting a fixed mindset. It preserves ego: If they can’t, then it’s not my fault. Reflect and reframe—we can’t give up on our kids

Make Tier 1 the priority Make Tier 1 the priority Make Tier 1 the priority Tiers 2 & 3 are a direct reflection of how effective your Tier 1 is. Design Tier 1 so that it's all it should be for learners & teachers. It's the only way things change to benefit everyone.

They came with wagons, chairs, an industrial sized dolly, teamwork, and smiles to Eureka math materials pickup this week. The 4th grade team stays ready so they don’t have to get ready. It’s the little things. #IYKYK #wedoitALLinELEM

My heart goes out to #MikeBrown’s family today. I’m praying especially for Mike’s mother, Lezley McSpadden (pictured here), and his father, Michael Brown, Sr. 10 years later, and, still, they mourn Mike; and, still, we’ve yet to pass comprehensive legislation to enhance public safety and prevent police brutality. The work continues.

Happy birthday, Philando Castile. He would've turned 41 today. He was a cafeteria worker who often paid for lunches for kids who couldn't afford them. The Philando Castile Relief Foundation (philandocastilefoundation.org) was created to carry on his legacy. Rest in power. 🕊️

Have you seen this recent headline? This is why I consistently advocate for women not internalizing everything that gets dropped into our laps, whether at work, at home, or in our relationships—it can make you sick, literally. My advice? 🧵👇🏾
