I’ve written to the Minister urging immediate action to ensure the State purchases a major landholding in the Wicklow Mountains, including the summit of Lugnaquilla, ahead of its auction on May 1st. At €2 million, down from €7 million, this is a rare opportunity we cannot afford to miss. There is already strong international interest in the land. It would be unacceptable for such a treasured and iconic landscape to fall into private ownership. This land should be protected for the public, not sold to the highest bidder.
