At a @KilkennyCLG county board meeting about 20 years ago delegates were asked for possible motions to bring forward for changes to hurling rules. I proposed a 30m penalty for dissent and got laughed out of court. Delighted to see it eventually come to pass. Great move.

I'm disappointed by the lack of proposed rule changes for hurling at the upcoming Congress. The only one I can see is to increase the penalty for dissent to 30 metres. No attempt to clamp down on fouling, overcarrying or throwing.

It was 1982. Gerry McLoughlin’s try was scored on my 8th birthday. The party was paused as the try was scored. Then straight out to my uncles field out the back where we got covered head to toe in muck recreating the try. No XBoxes or Bouncy Castles. Just great times with friends
