CEO as king and CEO as queen are two separate jobs and it's silly that we don't hire for them separately (direction setting vs execution). I think all functional companies must have them separated out in some way, but in healthy communion

"you should easily be able to see the logs belonging to one request" is apparently not as a common knowledge as I thought

Wish I had a way to set which locks can be used on an sql query and fail on planning if others are needed. As an example this would fail a migration that requires a table lock I didn't allow.

There's always justification for adding new and more things, because they solve some problem. But does anyone look at their stack and does a maintenance budget, thinking if they can afford to introduce something new without taking something out?

@TheEduardoRFS Not debuggable per say, but one of the things I am building into my programming language is a tracing ui that allows you to generate a unit test reproducing a trace.

I've been wondering about applications that are debuggable by default, it seems like it would be a great language feature.

Haskell is the best language for vibe coding and it's not even close.

I don't like that in Rust we have to import a trait before we can call the functions defined in it. use miette::{Context, IntoDiagnostic, blah blah blah}; Seems annoying.

@GergelyOrosz (biased because I work there) but @gadget_dev is similar to what Void promises to do. Infra as code (pg, node, vite, elasticsearch, redis, queues, cron) and you build on the same cloud infra used for prod And a CLI (+ skill) for local building, source control, and agents

Building a code review tool and using it to review the changes I make to it. Incredibly satisfying.

sent this to the team today everything great comes from being able to delay gratification for as long as possible and it feels like we're collectively losing our ability to do that
