@CindyPom I’ve found that hashtags are most powerful while they’re trending, or the topic is trending. But, outside of of trending, hashtags generate minimal additional engagement for tweets.

Serious question: Do hashtags actually help gain traction on X?

X is the only platform that truly encourages continuous engagement. It’s like a video game. Much like an RPG, the more you play, the more you level up. You’re not gated by how much you can play—only by how much engagement you manage to maintain. If you’re not interesting to your audience, you’re not going to make any progress. Minimize regretted user-seconds. Contrast this to other platforms, which gate your ability to engage. Post too much on any other platform and you’ll not only see diminishing returns from your audience but also from the algorithm, which penalizes you for engaging too much. There’s no such limiter on here—nor should there ever be one. If you can maintain engagement, you’re good to go.

YouTube Creator Survey. They scared. As they should be. "Twitter" the first option listed for competing platforms on this & other pages. This was NOT the case in prior surveys! p.s. I only fill these out to tell YouTube to STOP FKING CENSORING PEOPLE & MEDDLING IN DEMOCRACY. Seriously. YouTube has become the Ministry Of Truth. It's despicable. YT will slowly die of self-inflicted wounds. I will dance on their grave. They did this to themselves. You don't get to blanket ban discussion of certain topics, the asking of certain questions, statements of certain facts and expect people to quietly forget when the forcing function known as X (formerly Twitter) single-handedly forces you to adopt the same policies only out of FEAR, not a belief in the principle of free speech. YouTube is freaking out that creators are moving to X/Twitter, that X/Twitter monetization is rolling out and is starting to panic as the recognize the threat it represents. They will begin rolling back more insane censorship policies as the fear spreads. JUST WATCH.
