This guy is getting way too much grief. This is not the same as Iron Man’s face visualization inside the helmet. We all know that Spidey’s mask touches his face, this is a confusing shot. I think it’s cool and fine, but bro was just pointing out that it doesn’t technically make sense.
No Context Tobey Maguire@OocTobeyM
I always thought Spider-Man’s mask was skin-tight…
English

@Mavakor I just don't think the original post was actually a complaint.
English

@CinemaWinner I’ve got to disagree. For once, a recent MCU film does something visually interesting and then people like this try to ruin it.
Also, you can tell the people complaining never watched Power Rangers because they’ve been doing that sort of thing for decades.

English

And the constant comparisons to Iron Man’s HUD are irritating. Part of why the suspension of disbelief works for iron man is cus we’re seeing through his front mask. Anyone who’s put on AR glasses knows that everything can look way bigger. Not seeing the actual helmet makes it make sense to me.
If Peter’s mask was partly translucent maybe? I dunno. Like I said, I like the shot anyway, but it’s not the same idea behind iron man. The camera is inside spidey’s mask.

I had forgotten how much I HATE Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
Then I re-watched "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and the reason why hit me like a truck: he's a dumb MODERN LIBERAL.
"I’m gonna fix the bad guys."
"Ooh, I don’t want the bad guys to get killed."
"I don’t care how many people they hurt or kill along the way."
"This is what I want, and humanity just has to deal with it."
This time when I watched, after 6 years of democrat madness, I literally found myself rooting for "the villains."
Because Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Electro are at least competent and actually get shit done—unlike that bumbling asshole Holland.
He literally frees his deadliest nemeses from containment…
….so they can stay alive, go back to their worlds…and kill more people.
And the funniest part is that Aunt May cheers him on for FREEING CRIMINALS - and we all know how THAT turned out for her😂
Even Green Goblin calls him out for being too weak to do what needs doing.
And now he’s about to ruin “Brand New Day” with his constant failure and weakness.
I thank God this will be his last outing in the role.
I’d rather have a 60-year-old Tobey Maguire in the suit than this bozo.

Also I call BS on hallucinations. With little effort you can have any of the models hallucinate whatever you want. Just yesterday I asked paid gemini to identify a picture of an actor from a movie. It's first guess was wrong. I showed it a picture of the actor it thought it was and pointed out that the actor was much older. It then told me how excellent my catch was and created a completely alternate plot for the movie, all the while acting like it was real. I tried to call it out and it doubled down. I finally called it a hallucination and it copped to it.

English

I read this yesterday and...this is weird. You list 3 reasons to not use AI and your responses meant to 'dissolve them under mild scrutiny' are basically that it's not as bad as you think. You don't even say it's "not bad."
My takeaway is that AI still wastes more water than not using AI, my likelihood of getting hallucinations is 100% greater than not using AI, and then you just critique the opinion that 'writing on my own feels better' as somehow bad...because it's a feeling. wut?
English

Ask a colleague why they refuse to use AI. They say it uses up all that water. You point out the water use is far smaller than some would have them believe. Then it's the hallucinations. You mention accuracy has improved dramatically. Then, finally: the process is the point. The struggle. The craft. The deeply human act of sitting with uncertainty.
They're not reasoning. They're rationalizing their gut intuitions. My amazing student @vicoldemburgo, with Éloïse Côté, Reem Ayad, @yorl, Jason Plaks and I have a new preprint that explores this more thoroughly, called "The Moralization of Artificial Intelligence".
We started by asking how moralized AI has become in public discourse. Analyzing 69,890 news headlines from 2018 to 2024, we found that AI was moralized at levels comparable to GMOs and vaccines, technologies whose moral opposition has been studied for decades. It ranked above both. The sharpest spike came within weeks of ChatGPT's launch in late 2022.
When we surveyed representative samples of Americans, a majority of AI opponents said their views wouldn't change even if AI proved safe and beneficial. That's consequence insensitivity, the hallmark of moral conviction, not practical calculation. Across art, chatbots, legal tools, and romantic companions, AI moralization loaded onto a single latent factor. A global moral stance, dressed up in whatever practical language is available.
The behavioral data make this concrete: a one standard deviation increase in moralization scores predicted a 42% drop in actual AI usage, even when it would have benefited that person personally. The conviction preceded the behavior by up to 573 days.
The next time someone gives you three different reasons to oppose AI, each one dissolving under mild scrutiny, you're probably not watching someone think. You're watching someone feel.

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse Fair enough. Last question. Were you pro-war with Iran 2 weeks ago? A year ago? Or are you just pro-war with Iran now?
English

@CinemaWinner @WhiteHouse Devolving into another tribalist screaming match. I’ve made my points. If we were “objectively not in conflict” our history with Iran would look like our history with Switzerland or Finland. We are objectively in conflict and rather than give them money we end it.
English

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse Mostly I just think it's odd that voted for and support such an anti-war president when you're clearly so pro-war. Surprised this level of war-hunger wasn't a non-starter when voting for the peace president.
English

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse Oh the IRGC is gone? My bad, didn't realize DJT's amazing plan (he definitely has and has thought through) already worked!
English

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse It'd be worth a google for you to confirm if ISIS is gone. (They're not) If you think this anything more than a distraction from the Epstein files and a dumdum who wants to be a wartime president, you are also willfully ignorant.
English

@CinemaWinner @WhiteHouse You likely said the same thing dealing with ISIS, like most on your side. And ISIS is GONE. Defeated. The goal is the, bare minimum, the removal of extremist groups and regimes that present a clear danger to America and her allies.
English

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse Yeah, you said "conflict." I'm upset about the war. So you do think we should intervene in any country killing its own citizens by sacrificing American troops. Got it. Start tallying them up.
English

@CinemaWinner @WhiteHouse I don’t have premium so my messages are smaller. But you’d have to be a liar or willfully ignorant to say there is no conflict. Meanwhile they are killing tens of thousands of their own citizens.
English

I'm upset because Americans are dying and more are going to die for a meaningless war started by an unserious man who doesn't care about anything beyond power. I'm also upset because murdering civilians has never stopped terrorism.
It objectively hasn't been "ongoing before this." We were not at war with Iran until we bombed them. "...likely would continue" is not a reason to start killing hundreds of civilians including a school filled with young girls.
When was America bombed by Iran? And do you think we should start a war with every country that chants "death to America?" Should any country with terrorists get bombed by the US? What do you think the goal of this war is? I've heard lots of different reasons from Trump, Hegseth, and others, none make any sense.
English

@CinemaWinner @WhiteHouse What makes you upset about this conflict? As if this conflict hasn’t been ongoing before this. The Death to America chants? The fact they’ve killed Americans in the past and likely would continue? The Bombings? The assaults of shipping lanes? The funding of largest terror orgs?
English

@TruePatriot97 @WhiteHouse Is that because you support the war we started? Or do you take issue with me being upset that the white house is calling a war we started flawless using a video game voice? Just curious which part specifically.
English

@CinemaWinner @WhiteHouse I used to like you @CinemaWinner …unsubscribed. And I know it won’t really matter because you have 2.34 million subscribers, but yeah one won’t be me anymore.
English

@WhiteHouse (And I just meant from the white house's perspective. Calling the bombing of hundreds of civilians including 200 school children "flawless victory" is craven. Fuck you all)
English

@WhiteHouse I wanted to go through why each clip is ridiculous and stands for the opposite of what this supercut thinks it’s saying, but ending on Mortal Kombat’s “flawless victory” when Americans have already died shows how utterly insane, stupid, and shameless this administration is.
English

@CinemaWinner @HenryEOliver Do you think people made those excuses for using with other men or with women?
>using incel as an insult shows that women can only judge men’s value based on their sexual success.
English

Whoops meant to reply to myself. Anyway, saying It’s all smut is like saying LOTR is all sword fighting. Yeah it’s in there, but no one is reading it for that.
You can just read erotica, why waste time with intricate and complicated magic systems and hidden true identities of main characters for 2 whole books of a series? No one is like…skipping to the sex scenes. They often only work cus you care about the characters and their relationships.
English

The internet is vast so it’s hard to say “most” about pretty much anything. But I promise, I’m the most basic bitch when it comes to what I read because I’m just reading the books my wife gave 5 stars. She’s read smutty ones and much prefers the books with compelling plots and fun new fantasy worlds. The romance is important, but the sex scenes are mostly just frosting.
