@Cinescaping @elrito248 @artwithinpod yeah i got a paper flagged for potential ai in 2024 when it was still fairly new to the mainstream, but it also said i “plagiarized” descartes when all i did was directly quote and cite in text: “i think therefore i am” so they could tell it was a false positive lol.

@pourfairelevide Not the same thing, but I’d recommend Philip Glass’ Akhnaten. Shows you ancient Egypt as a profound, otherworldly place. By the end you can’t verbalize the feeling of such an alien experience and then comes a modern historian and gives some facts and you’re like ”that wasn’t it!”

I want an Odyssey adaptation (and an Odyssey translation) that makes you feel in your bones how profoundly different the archaic Greeks were from us. Basically space aliens. Nolan is just fundamentally not interested in that kind of estrangement.

Thera eruptions, climate change and consequential famines, etc), but still unknown. Likely as well that "sea peoples" were marauders also responding to the Bronze Age Collapse, not merely the catalysts
