This could be the first phase of a Belfast Circle Line service. 💜 Lisburn West is already under construction, while @Translink_NI's "Shaping the Future" document includes reopening the Knockmore Line with stations at Ballinderry, Glenavy, Crumlin and @belfastairport. Separately, plans also exist for a halt at Templepatrick (Ballymartin Park & Ride). This should be a conversation on doorsteps ahead of the next Assembly election. #openknockmore #belfastcircleline

Disappointed to see some heritage rail volunteers continue to attack the Belfast Circle Line campaign. Instead of working together to push for better rail solutions in NI, they’d rather tear down ideas that could benefit everyone. Constructive debate is welcome - trolling is not.

#TRAIN ❗Due to an obstruction on the line earlier the 12:34 Belfast Grand Central Station to Portadown will no longer call at Adelaide Halt, Balmoral, Finaghy, Dunmurry, Derriaghy, Lambeg & Hilden. It has been delayed at Belfast Grand Central Station and is now 21 minutes late.

@waco_kid2 @WWCTrustNI Bollards are needed because too many are using the street as a rat run, including taxis. Hill Street already has a taxi rank opposite the Merchant, but again zero enforcement, so taxis can't even get into it.

@CircleLineBT @WWCTrustNI I’ve already explained. Taxi’s are allowed in to pick up disabled people. Same as hill street. 🤷‍♂️

Union Street is literally 60 metres long. At this point it’s pretty clear that signs and asking drivers nicely isn’t enough. If taxis and other vehicles keep ignoring the pedestrianisation, just install retractable bollards and be done with it. The street is too busy and too narrow for this to keep happening.

@waco_kid2 @WWCTrustNI Union Street is only 60m long. Ann Street through to Castle Lane is 300m. Retractable bollards can be operated by request to businesses on the street.

New York is turning streets beside schools into safe places for kids to play football. ⚽️ Meanwhile in Belfast, School Streets were rejected by DFI in favour of maintaining traffic flow and putting up “No Ball Games” signs, even on streets beside schools and in the shadow of The Oval. You can’t complain about childhood inactivity while designing streets that tell kids not to play outside.
