Change in the State of Delivery (CISD) is when price shifts from bullish to bearish or from bearish to bullish. It’s not just a random move. It’s a shift in control. If you look at the first example, price was moving bullish into a higher timeframe important level. Momentum was strong, structure was intact. Then something changed. An up-close candle failed to continue and closed below. That’s your first sign of weakness. The moment you start seeing a single up-close candle or a series of up-close candles closing below, that’s where the change in the state of delivery occurs. From that point, you can anticipate price to trade lower because buyers are losing control and sellers are stepping in. Now look at the second example. Price trades into a swing low and raids sell-side liquidity (stop losses). After taking that liquidity, price closes above a single down-close candle or a series of them. That is the shift. That is CISD. Now delivery has changed from bearish to bullish. So when price pulls back after that shift, you can anticipate a reaction to trade higher. Combine this with solid market structure and liquidity concepts, and it will take your trading to another level. This is one of the cleanest ways to time your entries and align with the side in control.
