A Louisiana woman will spend years longer in prison after being denied parole for her infant son's death during their Hurricane Katrina evacuation. Tiffany Woods, 46, was convicted of second-degree murder in 2008 and sentenced to life in prison. Her sentence was commuted to 36 years in 2023, making her eligible for parole. Her premature son Emmanuel died when she fed him organic cow's milk instead of formula. Woods said she ran out of WIC vouchers and the baby was throwing up formula. Two parole board members voted for her release, but one denied it after viewing photos of the emaciated baby. Woods must wait five years to reapply. She's eligible for release in 10 years with good time credit. #Louisiana
