🥉 Emilea Zingas / Vadym Kolesnik 🇺🇸 117.51 / 196.02 Emilea: “I’m in shock. I think we’re still shaking a little. Just because before the skate I wanted it so badly. I wasn’t thinking too much about the Final until we got here and everybody started asking us questions about it and stuff. And I love Japan, I so much wanted to go to Japan. Before we skated, I really told myself: I need to do this. We need to do this. I want this so badly. And that made me tighten up before we started. But then, right before we skated, Vadim touched my face and was like: you got this. And then I was so relaxed, and I don’t even remember parts of the program, we were just relying on muscle memory.” Vadym: “I’m like elated. I can’t even describe it. Today I felt we might be a little off, we might not be 100 percent, but all we needed to do was feel each other on the ice. When we started, it all fell into place. I’m just… it all fell into place.” Emilea: “Also my family is here. I feel really, really happy. Going to the Final at the beginning of the season is something I never expected.” Vadym: “I thought there is no way, but deep inside I had that dream. And I’m happy I achieved this one dream, and there are a few more to go.” On what they’re most looking forward to in Japan Emilea: “Last time I was in Japan I was living in Don Quijote! Every day after practice I was like: please, can we go there? I had to buy another suitcase on the way home. So I’m going shopping for sure. I’m very excited. I’m going to restock all of my makeup and the skincare I bought there. I’m also hoping to try some new food because I didn’t get to try too much last time.” Vadym: “I’m looking forward to buying a One Piece manga and getting some fishing tools for my friends.” ⸻ On receiving the flower crown Emilea: “I was freaking out. She came over to our side this year and I was like: YES. Because I saw other people get them, so I was wondering if I was going to get one, and I’m so happy. It will go to my collection. I have them all hanging on my wall.” On making history for Team USA Emilea: “We also just heard from our team leader that we’ve made history today. This is the first time in history when Team USA have 15 medals across the Grand Prix, and we were the number 15, the last medal. We made history today.” #GPFigure #GPFinland #FigureSkating
