@RichardResnick6 @ChrisMartin1961 Guaranteed tax-free "work" with included room and board for starters. Government benefits. Free healthcare. The list goes on.
English

@CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 Don’t forget about the highest median standard of living ever seen in this world. If all the negatives you speak of were reality then why would so many immigrants still want to get into the U.S., especially given the steep headwinds they now face?
English

@wayneq_88 @ChrisMartin1961 This isn't a scenario we're voting our way out of.
English

@CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 Difficult to prevent. We, the voters, are helpless against the rich and corporations. For decades we have voted our reps into congress over and over, most of whom are on the take. Get rid of the hidden money and most would not run again.
English

@wayneq_88 @ChrisMartin1961 This removes any sort of culpability from the generation that did nothing to prevent any of this from happening, sometimes even allowing and encouraging it because it would mean a payout for them (ie offshoring industry).
English

@CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 Our issues aren’t the boomers. Lobbyists and their targets in congress are the biggest issue. From the early 70s to now the voters have been usurped. PACs and their rich donors too.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 My parents are easily deep into the seven figures at this point, but when I was a struggling young adult who was obviously fucking up due to ignorance, I didn't even get an offer for a sit-down discussion of "OK this is how this works".
English

@CitiesSuck @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I think we’d be in good shape if more people were like youz So many people my age have no savings and lots of debt from bad choices. It’s sad. I remember my dad telling me, “Your problem is you have champagne tastes and beer money.” Delayed gratification is a good thing.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I learned a lot of very hard lessons and I'm still paying for a lot of bad decisions I made 20 years ago. I do have debt because at the time, the only other choice was starvation and homelessness.
In my case, I was let loose into adulthood with zero guidance or information.
English

@ChrisMartin1961 "We did everything for you"
"We happily sold your Nations and your future out from under you, reaped all the benefits and profited handsomely for doing so. We handed you a hellscape. Now stop being such a fucking crybaby and clean up our mess while we lecture you for being lazy"
English

@Alpine_Lakes @ChrisMartin1961 Most boomers are aware of what's been done. They're just conditioned to never accept fault, admit wrongoing or (God forbid) try to do anything to redeem themselves.
It generally passes quickly once they look at their bank balance and go out to wax their $30,000 Harley.
English

@ChrisMartin1961 @CitiesSuck If you didn’t care, why create the post in the first place?
English

@la_rue70 @Kristend773 @ChrisMartin1961 Gentlemen like the original poster.
I've seen boomers make fun of their children to their faces when they come to their parents not even wanting money or support, just someone to talk and vent to. They get insults and mockery.
Not all of them are like this but I've seen it.
English

@CitiesSuck @Kristend773 @ChrisMartin1961 Who laughs at you? I don’t think that’s true. I feel sorry for younger people who had to grow up after the 80s.

@BigHammer2021 @ChrisMartin1961 I'm praying nightly for the coming of an absolutely cataclysmic real estate crash.
This is how I bought a "half price house" in 2009.
English

@ChrisMartin1961 @CitiesSuck That about sums up his level of intelligence, don’t worry the liberals are coming for your home equity next.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I've learned to be strong, smart, resilient and adaptable. That being said, I think these are exceptional traits and not everyone is capable of developing them.
I don't think that this means the unexceptional everyman deserves a lifetime of uncertainty, misery and debt slavery.
English

@CitiesSuck @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 Fair point. I don’t mean that there aren’t causes but that these changes in the labor market have always happened.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I do have friends that have been supported and helped by their parents into their thirties. One of them now has the most beautiful house I've ever seen and a Ferrari in the garage.
He's smart, hard working, and had a phenomenal support structure. I'm genuinely happy for him.
English

@CitiesSuck @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 My statements are generalizations not universal truths. If they don’t apply to you, that’s awesome. I wish they didn’t apply to anyone but they do.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I disagree that it's "no one's fault" but I'm no stranger to making colossal career shifts out of dying industries and starting over from square one. Multiple times, in fact. I always remind myself that with our "leadership" nothing is guaranteed.
English

@CitiesSuck @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I started out in an auto factory and had to move to a completely different state and line of work when that industry went bad. This is what people do and have always done. Why do you think our ancestors came to the US? It’s no one’s fault. It’s the way of the world.
English

@DDS_MINN @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 I still love my parents but I see this as dereliction of duty. I had a passbook account but that was it. I didn't even know what a credit score was until I found out that mine was in the fucking toilet at roughly age 20.
English

@CitiesSuck @CuckSwarm @ChrisMartin1961 They definitely should have done that and the banks make it easy. My kids had bank accounts and budgets at 14.
English

@CuckSwarm @DDS_MINN @ChrisMartin1961 What exactly do we have to be grateful for? Infinityniggers? $800,000 "starter homes"? Wars for Israel?
I guess I'm grateful that they have nice RV's and brand new Ford F350s and get to smoke weed, drink Coronas and boomerdance to Jimmy Buffet in their vacation homes.
English

@DDS_MINN @CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 "- are ungrateful"
which generation took a giant plastic shit on this earth and expect us to be proud to inherit that?
English

@CuckSwarm @DDS_MINN @ChrisMartin1961 Love this one. I haven't been "supported" by my boomer parents since I got my first job at a video store in 1998. I did ask them to borrow money when I was struggling in my twenties and needed car repairs but I learned my lesson quickly NOT to ask them.
English

@DDS_MINN @CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 "- can’t support yourself"
which generation debauched the currencies so badly that supporting yourself is nigh impossible?
English

@CuckSwarm @DDS_MINN @ChrisMartin1961 Despite the grim outlook, I'm happily married with three children. The future belongs to those who show up, and someone's going to have to fix this mess.
English

@DDS_MINN @CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 "- don’t date, marry, or have sex"
which generation made sure there is nothing to look forward to, worth bringing children into this world?
English

@DDS_MINN @ChrisMartin1961 Hey bro you forgot to mention avocado toast or Starbucks
English

@CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 Your generation:
- killed the work ethic
- are overly sensitive
- learned nothing in school
- can’t read or do arithmetic
- don’t date, marry, or have sex
- waste what money you have on frivolous items
- can’t support yourself
- are easily misled
- are ungrateful
You’re awful.

@CuckSwarm @DDS_MINN @ChrisMartin1961 I do love my boomer parents, but the fact remains that they see nothing wrong with having allowed me to enter adulthood without ever explaining even the most basic concepts of personal finance, credit, interest, etc. despite very clearly understanding those concepts themselves.
English

@DDS_MINN @CitiesSuck @ChrisMartin1961 "Your generation:
- learned nothing in school"
which generation made sure the schools were this useless?
