East- and Westbound traffic on Ridgeway Avenue will be maintained. All businesses along Nordic Drive will remain accessible from the north by Commerce Drive or West Viking Road. The trail along Ridgeway, at this intersection, will also be closed. This will be in effect for 1 wk.

Starting today, May 20, the City will close Nordic Drive, just north of Ridgeway Avenue, for an emergency sanitary sewer repair. Crews have closed the northern leg of the Ridgeway Avenue and Nordic Drive intersection up to the southern entrance to Kwik Star (7500 Nordic Drive).

As Memorial Day approaches, City Park crews would like to remind the community of the Cedar Falls decorating ordinance for our area cemeteries. Visit bit.ly/CFMem26 for a list of the decorating rules, including the guidelines for temporary item removal.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, the City's contractor (Owen Contracting) will begin reconstruction of the alley from West 16th Street to West 17th Street between Franklin Street and Clay Street. To begin, an alley closure will be required. It will be in effect for 4-5 weeks.

On Monday, May 4, the City's contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from West 10th Street to West 11th Street between Olive Street and Walnut Street. For the contractor to begin, an alley closure will be required. The alley closure will be in effect for 3 to 4weeks.

A detour route will be provided utilizing US 218 and the Lone Tree Road interchange to travel around the work zone and reach southbound Iowa 58. The latest traveler information is available anytime through the Iowa DOT 511 system at 511ia.org.

On Monday, May 4, Iowa DOT will close the northbound US 218 exit ramp to southbound Iowa 58 for its bridge project. The exit ramp to southbound Iowa 58 will be closed for the duration of the project until late July.

On May 1, Public Works will begin underground utility boring work related to the Seerley Park project at the intersection of Iowa St. & W. Seerley Boulevard. A portion of the intersection will be closed. Traffic will be maintained in all directions. It is expected to take 1 wk.
