‼️A heat source too close to your Christmas tree can be a serious hazard. 🎄Be #FireSmart this season and make sure your Christmas tree is at least one metre away from any heat source, like fireplaces, radiators, candles, heat vents, or lights.

🎄Are you #FireSmart for the holiday season? Almost 1/3 of home Christmas tree fires are caused by electrical problems. Make sure the Christmas tree lights are all turned off before leaving home or going to bed. #FirePrevention

🔋 Fire Prevention Week Safety Tip #4: Don’t toss lithium-ion batteries in the trash or regular recycling bins—they can start a fire. Dispose of old batteries at a designated battery recycling spot. Visit recycleyourbatteries.ca to find a location near you.

Today we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We remember the children who never returned home, and their families, and reflect on the impacts of the Residential School system. We are committed to listening, learning, and reflecting on our role in reconciliation.
