On Tuesday, May 26 at 7 PM, the Duarte City Council will be holding its City Council meeting at the City Council Chambers (1600 Huntington Drive). 📆 The meeting will be broadcast live on the City’s website at CityofDuarte.ca.gov. Members of the public may view and livestream the meeting as it airs. Public comments can be made via email to Duarte91010@CityofDuarte.ca.gov until 4 PM on Tuesday, May 26. The subject line of the email should contain the number of the agenda item on which you would like to speak.

Applications are now being accepted for the Mayor's Youth Council 📣 The Mayor's Youth Council is a leadership rpogram for students in grades 8-11 who live in Duarte or attend a school within the Duarte Unified School District. Members work closely with City leaders, promote and support teen programs, and assist with planning activities at the Duarte Teen Center. The program operates on a one-year term cycle. Complete applications must be submitted to the Duarte Teen Center (1400 Buena Vista Street) no later than 6 PM on Wednesday, June 3. At its May 12 regular meeting, the Duarte City Council proudly recognized Amy Hai as the 2026 Senior Volunteer of the Year! In celebrations of Older Americans Month, Amy was honored for her dedicated service and continued contributions to the Duarte Senior Center and the community. 📢The Duarte Fitness Center Pools will be temporarily closed for scheduled maintenance beginning Sunday, May 24 through Sunday, June 14. Stop by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Prescription (Rx) Turn-In Event this weekend to safely dispose of these items! 📅 Date: Saturday, May 16 ⏰ Time: 12 – 3 PM 📍 Location: Temple Sheriff's Station (8838 East Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, CA 91780) Please place your medications in a sealed Ziplock-type bag prior to arriving at the event. Over-the-counter meds, inhalers, and aerosol containers cannot be accepted and should be disposed of separately at home. Additionally, sharp items, such as needles, are no longer accepted. Properly sorting organics helps reduce landfill waste and supports a cleaner, more sustainable community.
