@NJSimmondsbooks I rewrote my entire trilogy from scratch once I got a publisher.

I've written entire 95k word novels and deleted the whole lot 😆

@NJSimmondsbooks Not film, but there’s a TV show podcast called Talkville which is a Smallville rewatch podcast by the actors. When they have on producers, directors, or the DP they dive deep into the craft. I find it fascinating.

@Sparkeysf @dieworkwear It’s an art form that’s open to everyone. Try it and enjoy!

@CjHosack @dieworkwear I find that the older I get, the less I care about what other people think, and the more inclined I am to participate in pastimes that were traditionally limited to women. Quilting, knitting, etc., look like a lot of fun. 😅

Many jackets can cost $2k and more. Much depends on the material and how it's made. You don't see this bc you are disconnected from the production process and only think about clothes as objects. Marx called this commodity fetishism.

@dieworkwear No jacket should cost 2 grand. Sorry. Capitalist nonsense.

@Sparkeysf @dieworkwear Yay for grandma! You can do that, but fabrics from clothing can be of different blends that stretch differently, and can already have wear. Most quilters choose 100% cotton quilt fabric bought at quilt shops (sometimes during a quilt shop hop) at $12.99-15.99 a yard or more.

@CjHosack @dieworkwear I always thought quilters tended to use material from used and discarded clothing. Or at least that's what my grandmother used to do 😅 I've still got a few that she made many years ago.
