Before a recruit starts getting letters in the mail, phone calls, home visits, & all the love from college coaches. Either the recruit or someone close to the recruit made contact with those schools first to start the process. So if it hasn’t happened for you keep reaching out.
Ten things mentally tough athletes don’t do in games:
1. Make excuses
2. Complain
3. Give up
4. Lose focus
5. Get overly emotional
6. Panic
7. Dwell on mistakes
8. Get complacent
9. Stay in their comfort zone
10. Play selfishly
If you dwell on the negative, you simply feed your frustration or fear, which leads to bad decisions, which causes you to be even more anxious, angry, or afraid. It’s a doom loop. Press pause and interrupt the doom loop. Redirect your focus from the negative to the productive.
