@Snotlady5 On occasions I have collected student responses from the class and created a concept cartoon ‘live.’ Can work well but you need to select the question carefully and ensure you have potential misconceptions in mind so you can add potential ideas of needed.

#Edutwitter Any advice on using concept conversations/cartoons in the classroom- how much does it matter that you include images of people as part of the cartoon? Does it aid in memory making? I’ve just been using names but should I be using faces- does this aid recall?

@sandrine9210 With careful use and reuse these should now last for years. As a subject we do need to find a sustainable replacement but nothing obvious at the moment.

@Cjs42Smith Lucky you! We recycle ours but they tend to end up with a whole at the bottom. None of our suppliers had them this year- not even Amazon.

@KazG31 Excellent example as I assume the students need to decide which method to use before they can then add in the detail. I found just putting them together made me really think about the decisions I make along the way so I can make them more explicit in my teaching.

@Cjs42Smith It’s got me thinking about trying to do something similar for methods to produce pure, dry salts. We do IGCSE and we have 3 different scenarios that the Triples need to know. I normally end up with three columns (like your summary table ) but a decision tree may be helpful.

I was also marking some Y13 homework on Acids, Bases and Buffers and realised a similar tree might we useful.

I’ve tried putting one together for bonding along with a summary table to emphasise the exact wording needed for exam marks.
