Of all the crying through gritted teeth punditry of this incident we’ve seen and heard, I think Shay Given’s was the worse.
He was clearly and calmly talked through what happened and why the decision was correct and yet he just kept coming with his “yeah, but, no but, Arsenal this, Arsenal that” fume.
Darren Cann did well to stay so calm and measured amid such rubbish. Danny Murphy very good as well.

It was definitely a foul on Raya in yesterday’s game. However, weren’t there fouls elsewhere in the same passage? It’s becoming virtually impossible to officiate a game at corners. The authorities are going to need to consider bringing in a rule to stop this farce that has taken the shine off this season.
