@bigarsebrekkie @ReidTheGame I think it’s down to cup games being more cagey and opening up for transitional game towards the end. In the league if it’s 70minute against bottom half team they’ll happily sit back and play for a draw most of the time can’t do that in cups

@FootballEra_ I think the Havertz SS is up for debate he’s only produced against poor opposition besides Sunderland who aren’t great away from home. Plus any iteration of Havertz SS doesn’t work with odegaard on the pitch, neither of them are good enough defensively to support a lone 6.

By the way, there’s nothing wrong with Havertz playing as a SS, that’s his best role in this team and in this current tactical setup. Just make sure Gyökeres is the striker whenever Havertz plays there. His most productive performances this season have come at SS alongside Gyokeres. Any issues that arise with Havertz at SS come down to player quality, not the role itself. Havertz has 6 goal contributions this season, and 4 of them have come when he’s played at SS with Gyokeres at CF. Games Havertz has played at SS alongside Gyokeres at CF: •vs Kairat — 1G, 1A (assisted Gyokeres) •vs Sunderland — 1A (assisted Gyokeres) •vs Southampton — 1A (assisted Gyokeres. He started to look good when Gyokeres came on) There’s only been one poor performance in that role, vs City, and that was down to the team’s overall poor quality, both tactically and personnel-wise, not because he played as a SS. If he had taken his early chance, it could’ve been a completely different game. On the other hand, Havertz has been poor when used as a lone striker or paired with Jesus this season, because the system has evolved, he no longer fits the profile required of an Arsenal striker. His tacticos and stans are so outdated and out of touch with reality.

@Clare1069888 @Emzyl_ They're not. We recycle the ball between all our attacking players but one of our CBs sits higher to reduce the first out ball. Dropping them deeper invites more counters, not less by leaving central space. There are other options, but you've got the wrong issue.

It’s simple, Arsenal’s season relies on Viktor Gyokeres. A hot, in-form Gyokeres with high confidence fires Arsenal to the title. He did it with Sporting in back to back seasons, he’s done it for Sweden, all you have to do is give him a creative environment and he’ll deliver crucial goals. Like I’ve said since the start of the season, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and most of the other Arsenal players are part of the system that has delivered zero trophies in recent years. They have a recent history of falling short in title races, which has taken a psychological toll, they are mentally worn out. Gyokeres, on the other hand, comes with a track record of winning, and that alone is a mental edge. It’s time for some of you to humble yourselves and admit you got it wrong about him. And by the way, Max Dowman is also one of Arsenal’s most important players, play him alongside Gyokeres. I don’t care who drops to the bench, this is a supreme talent. Eze too, pray he comes back early.

@Cjwbcosplay @Emzyl_ No I have no issue with are defenders being opposition half but Gabriel or saliba have no business being 10 yards out from the penalty box. They can sit closer to half way line distributing it to wingers/fullbacks rather than being a key factor in opening up the opposition
