I’ll listen to you, and brainstorm with you, and together, we will figure it out - a collaborative approach to separation #collaborativelaw

@LucyGoBag I completely agree. Clear your mind by drafting the email but think about how the other person is likely to feel receiving that before a weekend, often without access to anyone who can help & send it out on Monday instead.

And anyone who comes @ me saying it’s just a sensible act of end of week desk clearance - do better

@HKW1981 @LucyGoBag @DrSdeG Yes, a common occurrence in my legal career too. I actively avoid sending emails out on a Friday afternoon if I can help it.

@LucyGoBag @DrSdeG Retired divorce solicitor here. One other solicitor I knew did this very deliberately. And when a new solicitor joined their team (following merger, not chosen) who was Jewish, this other person moved all team meetings to 5 pm Friday. We all hated them.

I'm also able to use the family mediation voucher scheme to offer space for children whose parents are going through a divorce to speak in private about how things are for them. There doesn't always have to be a dispute - just a dedicated child focused approach.

'I just wanted to thank you for all your support throughout this process. It hasn't always been easy, but your calm and balanced approach really helped us navigate things and reach an agreement.' With thanks to my client for their permission to share this.

Immediately transported on a dark misty night to a summer festival hearing caught by the fuzz from supergrass who were superb live! Thanks @BBCRadio2

It's my job as a professional practice consultant to inspire the next generation of family mediators to be the absolute best they can be & to continue to develop this hugely important area of work for separating couples.

Absolutely. In my work as a family mediator, I regularly meet with young people giving them a dedicated space to share their thoughts and feelings. It’s vital we talk & listen to children to best support them #childrensmentalhealthweek
All On The Board@allontheboard

It’s Children’s Mental Health Week and it’s so important for us to encourage our children to share their thoughts and feelings about their mental health and to support one another. #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek #MentalHealth

Pleasure to support another fantastic #familymediationweek thank you @FamMedCouncil. Fully immersed myself this week at any spare mo between my mediation clients & consultees. Now time to switch off & get back to parent life starting with the weekly swim lessons then football!

Joining as many webinars as I can with a busy mediation workload for #familymediationweek . Today was high conflict mediations. Key takeaway-promote regulation rather than resolution. Sometimes we need to slow the pace to create the right environment for thinking space to return.
