"Somewhere in the world today there is a woman for whom the Sword is forged. Somewhere there is one who has heard the trumpets of the New Age and who will respond. She will respond, this new woman, to the high clamor of those sar-trumpets; she will come as a perilous flame and a devious song, a voice in the judgement halls, a banner before armies. She will come girt with the Sword of Freedom. Before her, kings and priests will tremble, cities and empires will fall, and she will be called BABALON, The Scarlet Woman. She will be lustful and proud, subtle and deadly forthright and invincible as a naked blade. Women will respond to her war cry, throwing off their chains, men will respond to her challenge, forsaking foolish ways. She will shine as the ruddy Evening Star in the lurid sunset of Gotterdamerung. She will shine again as a Morning Star when the night has passed and a new dawn breaks over the garden" To you, oh unknown woman, is The Sword of Freedom pledged." These are real telescope photos showing Venus as a thin, bright crescent — very similar in appearance to a young crescent Moon. This happens when Venus is near inferior conjunction (passing between Earth and the Sun), when we see mostly its night side, with just a thin sliver of the sunlit portion visible.

@80ProofCole Venus is the star. The crescent is the moon. Sometimes the symbol is used for the sun being eclipsed which caused the same crescent shape. But Venus is too small in the night sky to have a crescent form. That’s why it’s a star within a crescent. It’s Venus within Moon.

Before Islam, the symbol of the Star & Crescent Moon was a Christian-Byzantine symbol for Mary, Mother of God. Before Mary Mother of God, the Star & Crescent Moon was a pagan symbol for Hecate & Selene (Lucifera). And the symbol was used back in the Bronze Age in Mesopotamia for Ishtar.

Gay pedo-priests are the norm...but the bigger crime was the extent to which the church hierarchy covered up their crimes. Chose to protect the dirty priests and the institution instead of the children. The entire institution should have a millstone flung about its neck and be cast into the sea...never to return. I cannot wait for that day.

Such a retarded take. You think Africa is suddenly going to become a first world nation if it converts en masse to Christianity? Britain built the modern world and only AFTER it began to remove the choke-hold of the church. The Christian legacy is superstition, backwardness, misogyny and multi-generational fear and shame complexes. Pretty buildings don't count as evidence of the greatness of Christian civilisation since the architects of those structures were largely subversive - Masonic Guilds.

Yeah this is bs. Caesar in his diaries (De Bello Gallico) openly discussed the ancient British university system where students studied upwards of 20 years...and that was pre-Rome, let alone pre-christian! Christian "education" was nothing more than an indoctrination centre with a few basics like reading and writing tagged on. A place where each generation can be subject to the fears of hell and damnation and maybe learn how to write their signature. The church in its infancy actively destroyed ancient texts and then once established gave us the Dark Ages. Christian apologists invent false histories to excuse the backwardness of the last 2000 years. Caesar's own words: "...Induced by such great advantages...many are sent to it by their parents and relations. It is believed that their rule of life was discovered in Britain and transferred thence to Gaul; and to-day those who would study the subject more accurately journey, as a rule, to Britain to learn it. They are said there to learn by heart a great number of verses; accordingly some remain in the course of training twenty years. They likewise discuss and impart to the youth many things respecting the stars and their motion, respecting the extent of the world and of our earth, respecting the nature of things."

@MarkBrahmin you're painfully and defiantly ignorant. The Church virtually pioneered the modern concept of education. Monasteries (yeah, places exclusively composed of Christian religious extremists) preserved ancient texts. First Universities in history were Christian. I feel sorry for you.

How to embarrass yourself as a historian. Most of these types aren't historians they just have agendas. "Eosturmonath has a name which is now translated "Paschal month", and which was once called after a goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honour feasts were celebrated in that month. Now they designate that Paschal season by her name, calling the joys of the new rite by the time-honoured name of the old observance" - Bede "We Germans to this day call April ostermonat, and ôstarmânoth is found as early as Eginhart (temp. Car. Mag.). The great Christian festival, which usually falls in April or the end of March, bears in the oldest of OHG remains the name ôstarâ [...] it is mostly found in the plural, because two days [...] were kept at Easter. This Ostarâ, like the [Anglo-Saxon] Eástre, must in heathen religion have denoted a higher being, whose worship was so firmly rooted, that the Christian teachers tolerated the name, and applied it to one of their own grandest anniversaries." - Jacob Grimm 1835.
Megan | @megievalist@megievalist

Daily Easter reminder that there is zero historical evidence for Eostre worship.

Women just reclaiming their rightful place as the leaders of spiritual worship. Admittedly I wouldn't have them leading this dippy old institution, or any other backward Abrahamic faith for that matter but if women infiltrating cause its downfall, it's all good. "The adoption of female dress by male shamans and priests is a worldwide phenomenon. It was prevalent among the Native American Indians, invariable throughout Indonesia. In Tahiti and the Marquesas the priests of the Areosis stained their skin a light or more feminine hue and affected the manners of women. When the Zulu chiefs perform rain-making ceremonies they put on a woman’s petticoat. Among the ancient Germans male priests dressed as women. In Babylon the priests of Ishtar and the Syrian goddess wore female attire. So likewise did the Korybantes, the Dactyl, the Kourettes and the priests of Artemis at Ephesus. The priests of Heracles of Kos dressed as women when they offered sacrifice as did the male officiants in the festivals of Dionysus. The male assistants in the cult scenes from Minoan Crete are represented as wearing women’s clothes. Among the Yakut it was believed that male priests could actually give birth. In California the adopting of female attire was believed to bestow great powers. All priestly robes, skirts, aprons, soutanes are indeed everything of an essentially feminine character. In short, this universal practice does not seem open to any other interpretation than that magic and ritual was originally regarded as an essentially female function" - The Mothers, Briffault,
