Pine Class have had a fantastic time exploring ammonites through art. The children designed their own ammonite motifs and used them to create impressive relief prints using lino-printing techniques. @Haigh_St_Davids

As part of our Prehistoric Pots unit, linked to our Bronze Age learning, the children got stuck into some hands-on clay fun in today’s art lesson! They tried out new skills like making coils, joining pieces with slip, and creating their own pinch pots. @Haigh_St_Davids @LT_Trust

This week, we’ve been learning all about how skeletal muscles work in pairs to help us move! The children explored the concept that when one muscle contracts, the other relaxes, and we brought this idea to life by building our own model arms. @Haigh_St_Davids @LT_Trust

Our young scientists explored why our bodies have so many smaller bones connected by joints. 👀 To put our learning into action, we took on a fun challenge: Try taking a drink... without using your elbow joint! 🤔🥤 @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids

This afternoon in RE, the children explored how world faiths celebrate harvest. We focused on the Jewish festival of Sukkot and even built our own mini Sukkahs! 🌿🍂 Fantastic explanations from the children about their purpose and meaning. @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids

Continuing our exploration of colour theory, we took a deep dive into our chosen artworks, carefully analysing how each artist uses colour—considering cool and warm tones, complementary, secondary, primary, and analogous colours. @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids @Cornerstonesedu

Today, we began an exciting investigation to explore which foods contain higher fat content. There were some interesting predictions — many of us assumed that vegetable crisps would be a healthy choice for our bodies. @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids @Cornerstonesedu

Our young artists have been diving into colour theory — learning how different colours make us feel and why artists choose certain palettes in their work. We've loved comparing how famous artists use colour to tell stories and express emotions. @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids

In RE, the children have started to look at the Easter story, focussing on trust and betrayal. Today we discussed what trust meant. We put our trust in our friends to lead us through the obstacle course…blindfolded 🌟@Haigh_St_Davids @LT_Trust

As part of our trust community, we have really enjoyed taking part in various sports events this year. This morning, we really enjoyed tying out different athletics activities ran by coaches at Standish High. 🏃‍♀️ ⚽️ @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids

Pine class have been solving division problems with remainders this morning. We used lolly pop sticks to help us figure out how many are left over. 💭 🧐 @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids @WhiteRoseEd

We had a great time raising money for the NSPCC, dressing up as interesting numbers and playing maths games! 🧮 @LT_Trust @Haigh_St_Davids @NSPCC #NumberDay

In English, we have been planning the next part of our story, King if the Cloud Forest. We created comic strips to help us with our ideas. ✍️ 🌲 ☁️
