If you’ve got a particular Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme in mind, check out their website – many offer free webinars for potential applicants or mentoring schemes for people from underrepresented groups.

There are lots of people on Instagram and Youtube too – some of this is a bit ropey in terms of quality, so watch with a critical eye – but there’s also a lot of great advice. The book "How to Become a Clinical Psychologist" (Golding, 2019) is not free but very worth a look.

PSA: if you're a psychology graduate looking to pursue a career path into clinical psychology (or other psychological professions), don't pay for what you can get for free.

📣 The Government has published its response to their call for evidence on unpaid internships. While we welcome the commitment to ending unpaid internships and ensuring both employers and interns are more aware of their rights to minimum pay, we’re disappointed they've stopped short of an explicit legal ban 🧵⤵️

Unfortunately we still see this in psychology, whether it is unpaid “placement years” as part of undergraduate degrees, or voluntary assistant psychologists/research assistants roles. Accessible to those that can afford to work for free… #classdiscrimination
