I just found out that my entire body muscles atrophied bc she made me her prisoner, I was confined to a bed.

So I grew up with narcissist parents and I was not like them. But I didn't understand that. I didn't understand that they were actually sadistic and completely incapable of love. And I tried so hard to get through to them. So much emotional pain because I didn't want to let them go. I wanted to have parents that I could love and be loyal to. I wouldn't give up. And the more compassion I showed and the harder I tried to show them humanity, the more they took advantage of me, the more pain the inflicted on me, and the more they sabotaged me. The more they basically laughed at me for being a fool. I sacrificed my life trying to show my narcissist parents compassion. And that was a hard fucking lesson to learn, that no matter how much compassion and love you show them THEY WILL PISS ON YOU AND STAB YOU IN THE BACK. they were sadistic. The more compassion I showed them the bigger opportunity I was giving them to inflict more pain on me. And they never missed an opportunity. So after years of this anguish and futile determination, I learned the hardest lesson, no matter how badly I wanted love and compassion to be the answer, it just isn't the answer for malignant narcissists. I had to give up. Every once in a while, someone, usually a covert narcissist, steps into my comments and tries to school me about "needing to show more compassion to the narcissist" as if they are more enlightened than I am and have a stronger heart than I do. And I don't know how to politely tell them how insulting, how arrogant and naïve they are to think that they possess a strength or love that I haven't already exhibited three times over.
