I expect to advertise a 3-year #PhD studentship soon (stipend and UK fees only) for a start between 1st Oct 2014 and 1st Jan 2025. The project will focus on ion channels with relevance to cardiovascular disease and CNS disorders. There is some flexibility re questions/techniques.

Reading through an MSDS and noticed there’s a reported LD50(rat) >12.6 g/kg. Considering the average rat is ~0.35 kg how on earth did they convince a rat to sit down and eat multi gram quantities of this reagent?

My parents recently said that when they died they wanted their estate split evenly between their children, all remaining siblings. Remaining siblings… And this is the start of the plotting to rid myself of some siblings and to increase my share of the inheritance.

Big day at HB headquarters - strategy session! Sadly not as easy as the PowerPoint says & there’s obviously been a re-think since last week, but spending a day as a team getting ideas down, cresting events, looking at venues, planning refurbs, etc. is definitely a day well spent
