California’s accelerating shift toward renewable energy is driving a rising need for trained professionals, such as contractors, electricians and technicians, who can support the buildout and upkeep of clean energy systems. In response, CPA has committed more than $2.6 million to workforce development efforts in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The Women in Non-Traditional Employment Roles (WINTER) program, which has received $558,000 in funding from CPA to advance training and work experience to low-income women and women of color, recently celebrated the first of four graduating cohorts in 2026. Clean Power Alliance was excited to celebrate the launch of a new rooftop solar installation in the City of Carson today that transforms the roof of a large warehouse facility into a source of 100% renewable energy that will serve hundreds of CPA’s low-income customers through the Power Share program. Developed in partnership with Prologis, this installation will make clean energy savings accessible to renters and working families, reinforcing the broader community benefits of local clean energy investment. The event brought together key partners and clean energy leaders who made this milestone possible, represented by Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes, Clean Power Alliance CEO Ted Bardacke, Prologis West Region President Megan Creecy-Herman, IBEW Local 11 Business Development Manager Tommy Faavae, Prologis Vice President of Energy Solutions Natasha Keefer, and the California Public Utilities Commission's Director, Office of Electric Supply, Planning and Costs, Molly Sterkel. This installation is part of CPA’s growing portfolio of 16 solar photovoltaic projects in operation or development, totaling 23 megawatts of capacity and reflecting a continued commitment to ensuring that all communities, especially those historically underserved, can participate in and benefit from California’s clean energy future. Today, in the city of Carson, clean energy leaders and community partners have come together to celebrate an exciting new rooftop community solar project. Through CPA’s Power Share program, this installation will deliver 100% renewable power to approximately 500 local households, helping families save on energy bills and expanding access for those often left out of the clean energy transition.
This milestone is made possible through a collaboration with Clean Power Alliance, Prologis, the City of Carson, and the California Public Utilities Commission, showing how public-private partnerships can lower costs, create jobs, and build a more equitable energy future for all.

The Community Solar program now provides qualified residents with 100% renewable energy generated locally in Carson at a 20% discount. Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is now receiving energy from SunZia Wind, the largest renewable energy project ever constructed in the United States, which began producing electricity this month. This project marks the completion of a 20-year effort to deliver wind power from New Mexico to California. SunZia will be a key source of renewable energy for CPA, strengthening its ability to provide customers clean reliable power around the clock. CPA will receive 575 MW of wind energy from SunZia, enough to power approximately 265,000 homes in Southern California annually and avoid approximately 935 million pounds of harmful greenhouse gas emissions each year. The project has a capacity about 50% greater than Hoover Dam and will produce nearly triple the annual power generation of Hoover.
