Kimi K3 has received far more love than we expected, and our GPUs are feeling it. Over the past 48 hours, demand has pushed close to the limits of our current capacity. To protect the experience of existing subscribers, we're temporarily pausing new subscriptions and prioritizing compute for current members. Existing subscribed users are not affected. We're adding capacity as fast as we can and will reopen new subscription spots in batches. Going forward, we'll also split membership into two more focused plans: Kimi Membership for Kimi Web, App, and Work; and Kimi Code Membership for coding workflows. This will help us match compute more precisely and keep the experience stable. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Qwen3.8 is launching and going open-weight soon!🌐 With a massive 2.4T parameters, this model is continuously evolving. We believe it’s one of the most powerful model available today, compatible to leading frontier AI models , second only to Fable 5. You don't have to wait to test it. Just now, the Qwen3.8-Max-Preview made its debut on Alibaba’s Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork. Be among the very first to try it out. Can't wait to hear what you build. Stay tuned! kimi’s founder & ceo got his phd at cmu. why didn’t he stay in america?!

while google is busy renaming notebooklm to gemini notebook, a chinese open weight startup completely outclassed every gemini model on the market today by a long shot. how can this possibly happen?

Can someone explain me how the new Kimi can be so insanely good? The story has been "chinese labs have much less compute but they still stay close to the frontier through distillation". These results seem impossible to explain through distillation alone.

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Kimi K3 just beat Fable on a major coding benchmark, at a fraction of the price. • Kimi K3 beat Fable on Frontend Code Arena • The gap between Kimi and Fable is bigger than the gap between Fable and Sol • It also smashes Opus outright, while being priced the same as Sonnet, $3/$15 per million tokens • Sonnet 5 High currently sits in 10th place on this leaderboard at that same price point • The generational jump is dramatic: Kimi K2.6 ranked 18th on this benchmark, K3 jumped 17 spots to take the top spot • K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 tested domains: brand and marketing, reference-based design, data and analytics, consumer products, simulations, and content creation tools, it placed #2, only in gaming, behind Fable • Full model weights are set to release July 27th @theojaffee: "Imagine if Anthropic were a public company today, their stock would be down 20%, maybe more, enterprises are probably not gonna be spending $10 and $50 on Fable when they can instead be spending $3 and $15 on Kimi K3."

Big news: Kimi-K3 by @Kimi_Moonshot is now #1 in the Frontend Code Arena with 1679 pts, surpassing Claude Fable 5. This is a 17-place jump from Kimi-k2.6 (#18 -> #1). In Frontend, Kimi-K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 domains: Brand & Marketing, Reference-Based Design, Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Simulations, and Content Creation Tools, landing #2 only in Gaming behind Fable 5. The full model weights will be released by July 27. Congrats to the @Kimi_Moonshot team on this major milestone!

Jensen Huang says Marvell becomes a $1 trillion company. It is worth $225B today. That is a 4x. Jordi Visser @jvisserlabs of 22V Research calls $MRVL his top semiconductor pick. You cannot cut per-token compute costs with copper - it runs too hot. Optics solve it, and Marvell built its whole business on optical interconnects. Pair it with Modine, whose cooling systems handle the heat optics throw off. Dylan Patel @dylan522p of SemiAnalysis has documented the same shift: interconnect and optics are the real bottleneck in AI systems, not just the GPU. If Huang's call is even directionally right, Marvell is mispriced at a $225B cap.
