Freezing temperatures, extra collections and working weekends? No problem for our waste team, who went over and above to make Christmas and New Year easier for everyone in December, collecting 99.5% of waste on time.

@dettybo This won't have any impact on our service as variations on this advice are allowed, and our recycling service is even simpler by allowing glass to mix with general recycling.

Mixed recycling collections are now underway ✅ All glass must now be placed in your large grey recycling bin. Our crews will no longer collect waste stored in the smaller black boxes.

Thanks to improvements in sorting technology, you’ll no longer need to leave glass bottles & jars in a separate box - it can simply go in your grey wheelie bin with the rest of your recycling. You can keep your black glass box, but if not, our contractor will be collecting them.

Every month we like to report back on our bin collections. Our crews do a difficult job and we want you to know how they’re performing each month. In January we collected 99.5% of standard household refuse on time. If that number drops, we’ll do our best to explain it to you.

Our teams are experiencing more and more occasions when our waste collection vehicles are unable to access roads due to inconsiderate parking. Junctions, corners of roads and double parking are all bad places to park. Please remember - we can’t get to you if we can’t get through!
