Wish I’d invested in EXCLUSION fence company in Scotland 20 yrs ago! I’d be a bazillionaire! Tens of thousands, maybe hundreds, of fence never taken down after trees reach a height where wildlife can’t snip off growth. Stops all wildlife movement. What a Rewilding legacy.

Now there's a helpful contribution to a nuanced debate from a UK politician with aspirations of becoming the party of Government. Is this what we can expect from Reform MPs on similar matters of state? "You're all bloody Irish. Just stop arguing and get on with it." Wow.

The Irish. There's a couple of blokes I drink with in my local. Bill is from Northern Ireland. We call him Irish Bill. Tony is from the Republic and we call him Irish Tony. In our minds they are both Irish. I hope that's cleared that up for the hard of understanding 🙂

It was a trip to a foggy Anfield for me and the @aelive_ team on Boxing Day as league leaders Liverpool defeated Leicester City.

Aspens are popping up across Mar Lodge, often far from the nearest mature trees. Of our 89 individual stands, 35 are comprised solely of wee trees! This is showing us that this precious species is expanding its range across the estate.

@DavidsonMagnus When ScotGov can give a credible policy route to net zero (and sustainable biodiversity) then landowners might be able to produce credible plans but until then……..

For its faults the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill 2024 will enforce that landowners above 3000ha produce land management plans, which will need to include detail of the land, compliance with existing regulatory obligation, and set out how to reach net zero and sustain biodiversity.
