Cleveland Office of Professional Standards (OPS)

The Office of Professional Standards is an independent City of Cleveland agency established for the purpose of investigating non-criminal complaints filed by members of the public against sworn and non-sworn Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) employees.

Completed OPS cases are heard monthly by the CPRB. CPRB members make decisions about complaints in an OPS case. Board members determine if an allegation is sustained, exonerated, unfounded, or if there is insufficient evidence.
