I’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be to access care in Alaska—and how important Medicaid is for families, seniors, and rural communities. Last night's forum was a good opportunity to discuss real solutions: supporting providers, improving access, and ensuring the system works.

I had the honor of speaking at the North America's Building Trades Unions conference. My message is simple: jobs. Good-paying, union jobs. With projects like Alaska’s LNG development ahead, we have a chance to build something big — and make sure working families are part of it.

Greta and I had a great evening at the Inuit Night Reception hosted by the Inuit Circumpolar Council Alaska. We joined Alaskans and international visitors in celebrating Inuit culture through dancing and song. Always good to hear firsthand the issues that matter most to them.

Had a great meeting with Kyle from Eklutna Inc.—always valuable to sit down and talk through priorities. There’s real opportunity when we work together to strengthen Alaska’s economy and get things done the right way. Conversations like this are exactly why we’re running.

Affordable energy is the key to unlocking Alaska’s future. When energy is reliable and low-cost, businesses grow, jobs follow, and families thrive. If we get this right, our economy will grow in ways we can’t even imagine yet. I have an energy plan to go on day one.

When we’re traveling Alaska’s highways with family or welcoming out of state visitors, our public restrooms and highway pullouts should not be an embarrassment. Basic maintenance matters. We should — and we can do better.

Mining with my grandkids on a crisp fall day, we talked about taking care of the land so it’s there for future generations. We can responsibly develop our resources while creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and protecting the Alaska we love — for years to come.

When I take my grandkids fishing—seeing their eyes light up reminds me why it matters. These moments on the river are pure Alaska, it’s part of our DNA. As Governor, I’ll always fight to protect our fisheries—because it’s not just an industry, it’s our way of life.
