@CliffBruntOG AP’s loss, Cliff.

Incredibly sad to see Cliff and several others let go by a once great news organization. Cliff worked his butt off for that place. Hold your head high, @CliffBruntOG

@CliffBruntOG @K_Mehrabian Cliff, so sorry to hear this. I’ve probably sat next to you more than anyone during Thunder games over the last decade. Always enjoy talking hoops and life with you. One of the best and one of the nicest in the business. Looking forward to seeing you back soon!

@CliffBruntOG Cliff, you’re the best of the best. Covering the NCAAT together was easily one of the highlights of my spring. The AP is making an awful decision by letting you go, but I know you’re going to land something bigger and better next! Anyone would be beyond lucky to work with you.

@CliffBruntOG My man. Sorry Cliff. You deserve much better than this. You’ll land well because you’re an incredible person and a terrific journalist. Good things await.

So sorry to hear this Cliff. You have always been such a joy to have around the beat, bounce ideas off of, and listen to some fun stories from. Seconding what Rylan said. A lot of media people can be super territorial. You, on the other hand, were not only super welcoming but also tried to help when you could. Wishing you the best. I know you will bounce back!

Just saw the news about @CliffBruntOG and I’m deeply saddened to hear it. Cliff is the personification of selflessness, kindness, and positivity, and one of the best journalists I’ve had the honor of meeting. When I first started covering the Thunder 11 years ago, he was always a friendly face in the room. A guy that looked like me, doing everything I hoped to do in this industry. I’m still shocked by the news, but one thing I know: God doesn’t make mistakes. They can’t keep an OG down. 🤝🏾

1/3 On May 15, Associated Press leadership cut 20 guild covered staff. Layoffs included U.S. news, photographers, investigations, business and sports across 12 states.

@CliffBruntOG You’ll be missed. I learned quite a bit about the Thunder from reading your stories, and I always enjoyed your WCWS coverage. Thanks for all the help you provided me over the years.

@CliffBruntOG I’m so sorry this happened to you. This does not reflect the great work you have done. So many great journalists were let go on Friday.

Cliff is truly an incredible writer and an ever better boss. The AP made the wrong decision here.

@CliffBruntOG Cliff, gutted to hear this. The way you welcome new comers like me with open arms and a helping hand is something I’ll never take for granted. I’ve appreciated getting to know you and your work. We know you’ll bounce back! Let me know if there’s anything I can do!

@CliffBruntOG You’re a talented and hard working journalist Cliff!!
