Havant & Waterlooville FC@HWFCOfficial
Havant and Waterlooville Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Les Hyson on Sunday afternoon.
Les was a jack of all trades around the Football Club for a number of years, as a supporter, volunteer, friend and a valued member of the Media Team. Les has been one of the voices of Hawks Radio for a number of years co-hosting with Henry Deacon and more recently Josh Verroken a role he deeply adored. Les travelled across the country supporting the Hawks - and portraying our performances his his own unique way!
A phrase often thrown around in conversation with Les over the years was 'Mr Havant & Waterlooville', something we believe Les always lived up to the name of for not just how much he loved the Club, but all those in and around it over the years too. Les would regularly Champion the values of the Club and was a great ambassador of the Hawks. Whenever anyone asked about the Hawks, Les would have all the answers and had many a brilliant story of his adventures with the Hawks over the years.
Les will be deeply missed by all here at the Hawks as he truly was a huge part of this Football Club and that will continue to live on through his son Ash, daughter Grace and granddaughters Aila and Alice who all have deep associations with us all stemming from how much Dad/Grandad loved the Hawks.
The thoughts and love of all at the Hawks go out to Les' family, friends and all those who loved Les just as much as we did!
The Club will be paying tribute to Les in due course and we hope you will all be able to do so with us.
