@DanielCherny Just to make the game take longer? T20 was designed to hit and giggle and make money.

Cricket will shamelessly borrow from baseball this summer by allowing fans to keep balls that fly into the crowd during Big Bash League matches.

🇦🇺 My alarm didn’t go off this morning - have no idea why it wasn’t set
Instead of a 35-min commute, it took 1½ hours
We’re told cramming 1M extra people into Australia every year is an “economic benefit”. But where’s the ledger on lost productivity when workers lose hours stuck in traffic or on trains?
The Australian Commute Report reveals Aussies fork out $20 daily on transport—totaling $5,020/year per person, or a whopping $43.2B nationally. That’s pure economic drag, not growth
Meanwhile, Infrastructure Australia warns Sydney and Melbourne face gridlock by 2031, with lost productivity from congestion doubling to $38.8B annually
And that’s before the $600B+ infrastructure catch-up bill over 15 years just to keep pace with population boom
What’s the cost to mental health, family life, and kids when parents endure extreme commutes because infrastructure can’t keep up?
Studies show commutes over 6 hours/week tank mental health scores—spiking stress, anxiety, and road rage, while slashing family time and self-care
The Productivity Commission pegs the total economic hit from mental ill-health at up to $220B annually—$600M daily—including lost productivity, healthcare, and welfare burdens from burnout and distress
And that’s conservative; long commutes alone drive a chunk of it through eroded wellbeing and absenteeism
And for women—especially pregnant women—sardined on public transport, pressed against strangers with no seat: what’s the measurable $$ impact of that distress and stress?
Overcrowding fuels anxiety, exhaustion, and safety fears, leading to modified travel, higher absenteeism, and health costs we all foot via the $220B mental health bill.
As a woman who’s endured it, I know it’s a hidden tax on our safety and sanity—exacerbating everything from road rage to long-term burnout
Pressure on roads, hospitals, schools, power, water—where’s the price tag on that community burden?
And what’s the cost to families that miss out on time together, kids in day care or OOSH or home alone, mum and dad overloaded and stressed?
Real growth builds with people, not on top of them

Guilty of third party deal late lodgements and non disclosures but no salary cap breaches. Bailey Smith’s Cotton On deal has not increased since he arrived at the club but if he re-upped it then it would come with added scrutiny given Cotton On is a Cats sponsor. The details 👇
