525 New Yorkers in NYC alone die every summer from extreme heat. This is the climate crisis, here, now. And Hochul is gutting the strongest law we have to fight it. Tomorrow, we go to Albany to remind her who she works for.

If she gets away with it, every governor in the country watching gets a free pass to follow suit. It's not just New York that loses. It's everyone. The budget deciding CLCPA's fate hits the floor THIS WEEK. There is no second chance. She needs to hear from a crowd she can't ignore that her job exists because of us. We are talking about an anti-Black rollback the country hasn't seen since they ended Reconstruction. Up to 19 majority-minority seats across the South could flip. NPR said 15 House seats currently held by Black members of Congress could go to white candidates. And if you don't get why this matters, we don't know what to tell you.

Yesterday, six unelected "justices" did the bidding of white supremacy and fascism and gutted the Voting Rights Act (VRA), essentially telling states they can suppress Black voting power. This is a fucking emergency.

We were organizing our next action in Albany when we were texted that Gov Hochul blocked the city’s tax change that would’ve raised $1 billion for NYC. Money that would’ve gone to working people instead of hedge funds run by white dudes called Todd.
