Fursuit makers, how do yall get suit clean and tight seams? I’m definitely getting more comfortable with a smaller seam allowance but idk how to put a good finish on seams. Is that more of a machine thing or technique? WIP of the suit I’m currently working on

Home alone… doggy time

@Glitzy_Fox It’s in a bunch of random spots on the fur, I’ll see what I can do repair, the pieces are already cut and it’s also on the uncut roll. I’ll have to order another piece if I can get it out, don’t have enough to replace it all

@ClimbViaBeaver Oh okay yes i see it now! To me it looks like some heat or friction damage. I would cut around it or try that steam and brush to try to repair it.

Makers, I’m about to start sewing this suit together and I just noticed that the fur almost has a grainy texture that I didn’t see when I was initially cutting the fur. Is this something I can salvage or do I need to replace this piece? This is pink shag from big Z

@Glitzy_Fox Here’s a better picture, the texture just feels off and it doesn’t have the same shimmer that the nice parts of the fur has. This is after being brushed

@ClimbViaBeaver Im having a little trouble seeing it but maybe try giving it a steam? Might be friction damage thats fixable.

@WitchyMuttButt Looking at the fur, it’s almost like it’s matted, same thing in random other spots too, might try brush it out and see if I can salvage if not I’ll replace, sucks because this is brand new
