The U.S. House will vote this week on whether or not to make daylight saving time permanent. Essentially, we would not change the clocks again (no "falling back"). As I've mentioned over the years, below are 3 options and how they would look in Indianapolis, IN: current system, year-round daylight saving time & year-round standard time. Year-round daylight saving time would result in a 9:02 AM sunrise and 6:23 PM sunset on the winter solstice.

@vol212320 I would take a thousand days of 85% humidity 100 degree days over one day below 15 degrees. Single digit temperatures are brutal. I nearly died last winter when we had a few weeks below zero temperatures. I actually hate it here.

I was able to speak with my grandmother today.
She felt the quake but her building did not get affected. She is elderly and her words really touched me. “I was not going to move from my home, I can’t stop the earthquake. God is in control in my life.”

@japan_nobunaga I’m just used to it. I use metric for weight and volume mostly. It’s fine for measuring but for me, only smaller measurements. I’ve just been using Fahrenheit for more than 50 years. That’s honestly why it’s best for me.

@tanpukunokami You don’t need to worry about that. Americans are very forgiving of foreign people and don’t get offended by interactions with them. That being said, my experience in Japan was that Japanese people don’t have personal space when interacting with others.

@sarahhepola I change it myself. I told my girls years ago, you don’t necessarily need to know how to change your tire. BUT always know how to find that information. Google can work, but everything that an owner might need to do to their car is in the owners manual.
